Calling CQ

I guess it all really started when that dreadful film 'Convoy' was released. The one about American truckers driving about fighting for who knows what and using their CB radios to keep in touch. I can't remember the exact moment for me but it was around that time when I was starting to get interested in cars. I'd bought myself a Hillman Imp of all things before I had even passed my test and was trying to do it up. I had some strange mental picture of a low and mean looking rally imp with big wheels and spoilers that I'd got from I can't imagine where, which I was determined to recreate. Ignoring all the warnings about warping cylinder heads and blowing gaskets I bought from a friend of a friend a horribly faded pea green example which was rusting away in his back garden and which found it's way into my fathers garage.
