1978 - 1979 Furniture Salesman
   
  The Post Office
Bristol.
1979 - 1982 Postman following a statutory period of household delivery, shiftworking at Bristol mechanised letter/parcel sorting office.
1982 - 1986 Promotion to Postal Officer on counter duties gaining experience of office cash account completion. Periods as relief officer in charge of various Bristol Crown Post Offices.
1986 - 1993 Transfer to administration duties and participation in Crown Office Audits. Assisted in the computerisation of various administrative functions in the Bristol Counters District Office including DOS based system development with BASIC, ANSI menus, batch files and Supercalc and Rapidfile macros
1993 - 1996 Transferred to the new regional office Financial Performance section and a LAN based NOVEL/Windows for Workgroups platform. Continued self taught systems development using the Microsoft Office program suite, primarily Excel4 macros,Visual Basic for Applications and mainframe downloads.
1996 - 1998 Moved to the Management Information section and commenced self taught development, from scratch, of a multi user management information system (still in use to date) based on a Visual Basic MS VB3 user interface using SQL to query a large LAN based MS Access 2 relational database.
1999 - to date Short period working unofficially as an odd job man.
Ongoing self teach WEB page development.
Slow death by pointlessness and boreom.

 

Hobbies

  Computer programing, Radio, motorcycles, DIY, guitar playing, reading and meditation.
